Accommodation at Mont d’Or Swartberg Hotel

There are three different types of rooms to choose from at the Swartberg Hotel, each one is filled with old-world charm and comfort as well as all the modern amenities and facilities you could need during your stay.

All rooms come with air-conditioning, a TV with DStv, an en-suite bathroom and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The Standard Rooms come with either 3/4 beds or double beds, an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a dressing table. These rooms are located on the first floor, should you prefer to stay on the ground floor simply make a request and the staff will do their best to accommodate you.

There are six Luxury Rooms available; these rooms are significantly larger than the Standard Rooms. The rooms come with a King-sized bed, large seating area, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower or bath. Two rooms come with their own balcony and another has a much larger bathroom with a bath and shower.

On the other side of the hotel, you will find the Garden Cottages. These cottages come with two rooms that are separated by a bathroom. They are perfect for families or large groups of friends.

Every evening you can enjoy a wonderful dinner in the hotels Victoria Dining Room. They serve up local dishes on an A La Carte menu, and have a wonderful atmosphere that allows you to enjoy the culture and character of Prince Albert.

Sample some of the finest local gins paired with tasty tonics and garnishes in the hotels’ Green Prince Gin Bar. Local gins available include Inverroche, Wilderer, KWV’s Cruxland and Six Dogs Blue, whose colour-changing party trick is always a crowd-pleaser.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.
