Their Chives Luxury self-catering suite, Catnip Luxury self-catering suite, Mint Luxury self-catering suite and Garlic Luxury self catering suite have a similar set-up and offering.

If you are after privacy, choose their luxuriously-decorated Basil Cottage. It comes with King-size or twin single beds, lounge sofa that can be converted to another King-size bed or two singles. The cottage also has a private indoor lounge and dining area as well as a private kitchenette and braai facility. Relax in your own private garden or on the veranda. Inside, you will find a shower and vanities.

The Thyme Cottage was designed with honeymooners in mind. This private luxury cottage is beautifully-decorated and comes with an outdoor lounge and braai area and private garden. The cottage has one bedroom, a separate bathroom, and an open plan dining area with a fully equipped kitchenette and indoor fireplace.

Meanwhile, the Parsley Cottage, which can sleep up to four people, comes furnished with a King-size or twin single beds, a lounge sofa that can be converted to another King bed or two singles. It has a private indoor lounge and dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette, private braai facility, garden and veranda. It also features a luxury bath with a shower, an outdoor bath under the stars and vanities.

The Sage Suite is a private luxury self-contained self-catering cottage. It sleeps up to four people and comes with a private lounge dining room area and fully equipped kitchenette. Situated next to the 20-meter-long shared pool, guest can enjoy cocktails on the daybed while soaking up the sun. . Guests in this cottage have their own private veranda and braai facilities, as well as a luxury outdoor bath.

Or you can choose the Dill Suite, with its very own pizza oven, private outdoor lounge, dining and braai area.

Cummin is the family unit with a King-size or twin single beds, and a loft area for children ages ten and older. The unit has an open plan lounge and dining area, a beautiful fireplace, separate toilet, bathroom, private veranda garden with braai facilities, and an outside lounge and dining area. Other amenities and facilities include a fully-equipped kitchenette, a private garden with its own splash pool, double showers and a luxury bath.

The Pool Cottage is one of a kind. This unit is the largest unit and can sleep up to six people. The open plan dining, lounge area and fully equipped kitchen is beautifully decorated with a modern flair. Enjoy the summer sun on the day beds under the trees next to your own splash pool and in the private garden full of surprises. .  This unit has a large wrap-around patio/veranda with lounge, dining and braai facilities.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.
