There are two well-appointed accommodation options to choose from at the lodge.

There are 10 luxuriously-appointed River Lodge tented rooms, which can sleep two people in each one. They feature covered verandahs with lovely views of the valley below, lodge rooms with thatched roofs, canvass sides and wooden deck floors.

Or choose from their five Luxury Safari Tented Camp units, which offer similar amenities.

While the River Lodge rooms and Tented Camp units have different amenities, expect comforts such as cozy beds, linen, hairdryers, toiletries and towels.

Facilities at Humala River Lodge

Guest facilities include a lounge, dining and bar areas. On hot summer days, you can cool off in their sparkling pool.

Note that guests are driven to the lodge on a game vehicle and cars are left at a secure parking at the reserve gate.

You can also visit their spa for amazing treatments.

Activities in the Songimvelo Game Reserve

At Humala River Lodge, you will find a lot of leisure activities to keep you occupied for days. The Songimvelo Game Reserve offers game drives, bush walks, birding and fishing opportunities.

There is also a Heritage Site, which you will enjoy exploring.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
