Umdoni Park Golf Club has, without a doubt, among the most spectacular views of any golf course in the world. Expect extensive Indian Ocean views, a 200ha lush indigenous coastal forest, sightings of dolphin, whale, bushbuck, monkeys, mongoose, jackal to name a few and over 150 bird species as you enjoy the rolling fairways.

It is not a coincidence that conservation is part of their philosophy.

The story of the Umdoni Park Golf Club traces back to May 1920. Today, it is regarded as a breathtakingly beautiful and hugely pleasurable golf course to play.

Umdoni is noted as one of the best 18-hole golf courses in the KwaZulu Natal. Nine holes run alongside the Indian Ocean, while the remainder stretch inland through dense indigenous forest vegetation.

The golf course itself measures 5 560 metres from the tips. Its par 5 eighteenth and par 3 sixteenth holes are both elevated tees, which makes for an interesting game.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.
