Accommodation at Shikwari Nature Reserve
At Shikwari Game Lodge, you can be accommodated in luxury suites or rondavels.
Shikwari Suites, There are six 4-Star TGCSA graded suites which offer relaxed friendly service in amazing surroundings. These thatched suites can accommodate a maximum of two adults & 2 children age 5-12yrs. Each comes with a private bathroom and outdoor shower, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, sitting area, a small patio decorated with stylish furniture and a choice of King or 2 single beds with percale linen, toiletries, towels slippers and bathrobes.
A stocked hospitality tray for guest’s enjoyment with fresh ground coffee, quality teas and homemade cookies, each suite also comes with a mini fridge that may be stocked on request. There is also an evening turn down service with homemade nougat.
Pangolin Rondavels Want a more bush style experience or travelling on a budget? Choose from their four comfortable thatched Rondavels; all have ceiling fans, two rondavels come with an outdoor shower, covered toilet and basin one has aircon, while the other two share a separate full bathroom and outdoor shower. All units have a choice of a King-size or two single beds with percale linen, tea & coffee tray, towels and toiletries. All rooms have a wardrobe, seating, and hospitality trays.
Guests at both camps take meals at the Shikwari Suites; meals are included either on Half Board only for Shikwari Suites or for Pangolin Rondavel we offer B&B or Half Board.
Child Rules: Children welcome – 5yrs -12yrs old are accommodated parents at 50% of the Adult sharing rate. Teens 13 -18yrs accommodated at 100% of the adult sharing rate in own room or with one other adult and/or 2 younger siblings. This applies to both camps

Facilities at Shikwari Nature Reserve
Facilities Shikwari Suites they include a well-stocked, licensed Bar; secured free open air parking, a paid laundry services, LED TV with premium DStv and complimentary Wi-Fi available to guests staying both camps. I
Dining at Shikwari has a distinctive South African flavour often with a touch of French or Italian flair. All ingredients are sourced fresh and bought locally as much as possible.
Breakfast and dinner is usually served al fresco unless the weather is inclement.
Enjoy South African favourites such as Bobotie, Venison, Durban Curries, Karoo Lamb, Malva Pudding, Koeksüsters and Cape Brandy Tart along with Homemade bread, scones & muffins all made from scratch.
There is an outdoor plunge pool for cooling off on those hot summer days as well as a tour/sightseeing desk for those wanting to venture out and see the area. It is best to make booking well ahead of time especially for guided tours.
Weddings – Tying the knot soon? Shikwari is also the perfect venue for bespoke rustic, relaxed bush style wedding – whatever your theme. Choose the deck boma. a romantic spot under trees or the lodge veranda with views of the Northern Drakensberg Mountain. There is plenty to keep you occupied for days at Shikwari Nature Reserve. Take a dip in the plunge pool, enjoy a book from the library under a shady veranda, or take a walk with or without our FGASA guide. Bring your mountain bike to enjoy the bush.

“My wife & I spent the weekend of 19/21 September at this majestic place. The reception, the accommodation, the management & staff was top notch! We were also given advise about nearby tourist attractions which we enjoyed some of like visiting Jessica the Hippo and some places of note in Graskop! The entourage that we met there of other visitors was also It is just a pity that the autumnal grass was not that good and although we did see some wildlife – we even were invited to the feeding of the zebras – it was not ENOUGH!! The weather was fine – but much hotter than the Highveld (our home), the room was spacious, immaculate. The food was divine!!
