Sail Due South sailing & yachting courses – an adventure from beginning to end!

Nothing beats the fun and excitement of sailing; but if you have never commandeered a boat, yacht or catamaran, Sail Due South is a RYA and SAS-approved sail training facility in Langebaan providing sailing lessons, yachting and yachting industry courses.

Besides amazing facilities and superb, experienced sailing and yachting instructors, Sail Due South also provides great accommodation. The Sail Due South ‘Virtual Super-Yacht’ Crew House is where all students are accommodated during their theory courses or you can choose the Due South Guest House.

Sail Due South is the Premier Yachting Academy in South Africa. This sailing academy is recommended for young aspirant sailors up to the older corporate types looking for a career change or a new pastime.

Courses and training at Sail Due South

They specialize in providing training aimed at The International Yachting and Super-yachting industry; the International Charter & Flotilla Skipper and Hostess Training; Worldwide Offshore, Coastal and Charter based cruising; and internationally-accredited Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Courses as well as South African Sailing (SAS) accredited courses. They have various Individual RYA-accredited career courses including Stewardess/Hostess training; Crew or Day Skipper & Superyacht Deckhand training; and RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Career packages.

Hobbyists will love their non-commercial Cruising Courses such as RYA/SAS Day Skipper Combo; and RYA/SAS Coastal Skipper Combo courses.

If, for any reason, you cannot take the training or courses as a package, you can upgrade and/or build your way up module by module HERE. Having taken their training and courses, Sail Due South can assist you in securing employment in the yachting industry.

All their sail and yachting courses are endorsed by the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Their training ranges from ‘2 Day Start Yachting’ right up to ‘Yachtmaster Ocean’ as well as essential add-on’s like the ‘RYA Powerboat Level 2’ courses.

Sail Due South has amazing skippered charter options around the scenic Langebaan lagoon and the West Coast Nature reserve. They have 1/2 Day Cruise options and Full Day Charters. You will also love their Ultimate Gin Charter.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience? The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.

Well that’s our theory anyway. It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe. It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
