Are you also thinking about trying out paragliding, but don’t know where to start? Well, let me tell you, Paraglide Africa, which is based in both in the Garden Route and in Cape Town, is the perfect destination for learning how to paraglide.
With vast open spaces, stunning landscapes, and warm weather, it’s no wonder that so many people are choosing to learn how to paraglide at Paraglide Africa.
Learn to paraglide with Paraglide Africa
First things first, if you’re new to the sport, I highly recommend starting with a tandem paragliding experience – again offered in Cape Town and the Garden Route. This is where you’ll fly with an experienced pilot, who will guide you through the experience and handle all the technical aspects of flying.
It’s a great way to get a taste of what it’s like to fly and see if paragliding is something you want to pursue further.
Once you’ve had a taste of flying, the next step is to complete either an introduory Paragliding course or a full basic paragliding license course. The course lasts around 2-3 days and 10-14 days respectively and will teach you everything you need to know to fly safely and confidently on your own. You’ll learn about weather, equipment, and safety, as well as how to launch, fly, and land a paraglider.
During the basic license course you will also obtain your internationally-recognized paragliding license which allows you to fly almost anywhere in the world.
The international paragliding license will allow you to fly anywhere in the world and will demonstrate to others that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to fly safely. Trust me, with this license; you’ll be able to fly to some of the most beautiful places on earth.
After completing a basic course, why not keep on expanding your skills to perform longer and higher flights by taking part in their other training courses. These courses include an Competent Progression Flyaway; and the XC Progression Flyaway which is a continuous skill building course.
During the duration of the course all equipment will be supplied, but if you want to have your own kit ask them about a special equipment package deal that gets you your very own paraglider and all the necessary gear to learn on or keeps you flying after your course.
The best part is – as one of the top paragliding schools in South Africa; Paraglide Africa is staffed by experienced, passionate and qualified instructors, who can help you every step of the way.
Whether you’re looking to learn how to fly or just looking for an adventure, Paraglide Africa is an experience you’ll never forget. See our other reviews on the paragliding experiences that they offer HERE.
