Mountain Creek Lodge in Hazyview provides a place to enjoy the vast open spaces of the Mpumalanga countryside near the world-famous Kruger National Park as a family, corporate or group of friends.

Accommodation at Mountain Creek Lodge

In terms of accommodation, there are two Main Lodges, four Chalets as well as a Cottage.

The first Main House is designed for families and groups and has four bedrooms with en -suite bathrooms in each one. It also comes with a full kitchen, two dining rooms, and a lounge with a fireplace as well as a TV area. In total, it can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people.

In the second Main House you will find three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also comes with a full kitchen, lounge / tv room, dining room and a private boma/braai area and a patio with a built-in braai / fireplace. This unit can accommodate up to six people.

The Chalets can accommodate between two and four people with the option of two and one-bedroom units. Inside, you will find fully-equipped kitchenettes and en-suite bathrooms. All the Chalets come with their own private verandas with built-in braai’s.

Designed for up to four people, the Cottage comes with two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms, a lounge and dining room area, a kitchen and a private veranda with braai facilities.

Standard amenities in all the units include air conditioning, clean linen, towels, basic toiletries – soap and shampoo as well as select DStv. All beds are single beds, but they can make available King-size beds on request due to limited availability.

Facilities at Mountain Creek Lodge

Guest facilities include ample, secure parking for vehicles; an entertainment area where you can play darts, table tennis games or pool; a bar area; as well as a swimming pool and dam for those hot summer days.

Mountain Creek Lodge is ideally located to place you within reach of most of what Hazyview and the greater Mpumalanga has to offer the holiday-maker. Attractions include beautiful waterfalls, zip line, quad-biking, absailing and rafting adventures.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

Spas are the ultimate relaxation aid

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table. 

Well that’s our theory anyway.  It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good

A small, personal spa that is owner run can result in the best massage you have ever experienced.  However, the grand spas in five star hotels offer unsurpassed facilities in an environment that just makes the stress in your shoulders and neck melt away before you even finish checking in.

Adventure!

You don’t have to be an adrenaline junky to enjoy an exciting experience.  In fact, what are commonly termed adventure activities usually have incredibly high safety standards and unblemished safety records.

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe.  It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
