Situated just 80km north-east of Cape Town, Riebeek Kasteel is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. It’s a great holiday destination, whose climate is described as Mediterranean with hot and dry summers as mild winters.
The story Kloovenburg Pastorie, as an accommodation offering, began in 1977, when Pieter and Annalene du Toit purchased Die Pastorie (The Parsonage) from the local Dutch Reformed Church.
They have since transformed this historic property into one of the Riebeek Valley’s most sought-after accommodation options for weekend and overnight stays. You can expect a beautiful villa offering three superb air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms as well as a super luxurious suite.
It’s not just amazing facilities – many of their guests have left with many fond memories of hospitality they received from the owners and their staff during the course of their stay as well as the unique splendour of the area. Read more here…

Reviews from previous Kloovenburg Pastorie guests
“We recently spent 4 magical days at this luxurious old farmhouse. Set in a surrounding of rolling vineyards and olive groves, the house is beautifully restored, luxuriously furnished and immaculately kept. The swimming pool was a blessing in the heat of summer. The house is close enough to the restaurants (all excellent) and shops but set back from town just enough to escape. A visit to Kloovenburg for wine and olive tasting is a must. We cannot wait to return,” wrote Marc0112 on their TripAdvisor page.
CheshireGrannyontour added; “We spent two nights here as an escape from the water restrictions in Cape Town, and were surprised and delighted to have the exclusive use of this small and elegant house, a small but comfortable room and ensuite shower room, communal sitting room, but we were the only guests, lovely pool in private gardens, everywhere spotlessly clean and of the highest standard. Although no meals whatever are provided there is a communal fridge and a complimentary bottle of Kloovenburg wine was provided.”
“Highly recommended – a beautiful view of the valley, great service, comfortable, felt like a queen in the deluxe suite, perfect place for the bride, bridesmaid, photographer, makeup – thank you for a wonderful experience Klovenburg,” said Leaclare.
