Kariza Self-Catering Apartments is among the best accommodation you will find in the small town of Yzerfontein – some will tell you the proper name is Ysterfontein! It does not matter really as both names enjoy popular usage.
Situated just 90km outside Cape Town, on the West Coast, Yzerfontein is a relaxed sea-side village that enjoys a warm Atlantic climate, which you will find perfect for days at the beach.
As a town, it traces its roots to the 1930’s when the then Yzerfontein farm was bought by the Katz-family, who parcelled out the farm into residential plots. However, the area had already been identified by early Dutch sailors.
Today’s Yzerfontein is a modern settlement complete with a spa, coffee shop, pharmacy and several great restaurants.
It is in this beautiful setting, a short walk from the beach, that you will find the Kariza Self-Catering Apartment. The apartment can accommodate couples, a small family or a group of friends.
Karen Schräder, the owner, is a wonderful host as many of her previous guests will attest to.
