This heartwarming charity project centers around uplifting lives in their local community through various impactful programs and initiatives. Their focus for 2023 is a project to keep local kids warm.

The Tarkastad area is no stranger to heavy snowfall and bone-chilling temperatures during the winter. Hence, the goal is ensuring that as many children as possible stay warm during this season.

“What we throw out and no longer need can be very valuable to another so we are asking anyone, who has old blankets, jerseys, scarves, gloves or socks to please please send them our way,” appeals the owners of the farm, who are also the founders of the Blanco Cares charity project.

“Last year, we were deeply privileged to receive the most amazing pile of hand crocheted blankets from the DSG community in Grahamstown and those were received with the biggest amount of gratitude from the little children’s home in Tarkastad and are still being used to keep a whole bunch of little people warm.”
