Expect country charm and elegance at House at Glengariff in Underberg

Built of sandstone in the early 1900’s, the House at Glengariff, which you will find on a working farm outside Underberg, in the Southern Drakensburg, is a comfortable abode for groups and families looking for a holiday in the countryside.

This historical house has since been renovated and refurbished to offer self-catering, farm-style accommodation. Expect to unwind and breathe in the fresh country air, surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

Because its location, there is no better way to practice social distancing and they have also put in place various COVID-19 protocols to ensure your safety.

A maximum of 10 people can be accommodated comfortably at this luxury house. There are five rooms available, one of which is en-suite. Amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, fireplaces to help keep the House warm and cosy during the cold winters; a TV with DStv; a spacious living and dining area that opens up onto a veranda with plenty of couches.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
