HFT: When was Conway Photo & Film established?

Wade: Conway Photo and Film Pty Ltd was established 10 years ago – in 2010, in Ballito, KwaZulu Natal. Zandra began under a name Zandra Conway Photography.

HFT: What made you decide to open your own shop?

Zandra: We got retrenched from our jobs and were not receiving any offers of employment. So, we decided to open our business full time.

HFT: What services do you provide?

Wade: Lifestyle, events and corporate and commercial photography and videography. Drone work included.

HFT: What would you say separates Conway Photo & Film from other photographers in Johannesburg and Durban?

Zandra: We are not freelancers, but part of a team of 10 creative professionals; so we are able to handle very big photography/videography projects with ease. We are very passionate about our craft and strive for excellence always. We also have quick turnaround times on projects.

HFT: Tell us more about your creative team.

Wade: We have four photographers. Three of us have over eight years in the industry and the fourth member of our team has over four years in the industry. We have over 6 videographers who handle all our video production. Gerrit is a highly talented creative who is also a master drone flyer.

Tayla is our editor and main videographer / drone flyer who also has an amazing ability to storytell. Elsie is a main videographer and we then have 3 second videographers. I love my team and wouldn’t trade them for anything.

HFT: Conway Photo & Film has many accolades – any awards worth mentioning?

Zandra: Recently, we won an award in the UK for Innovation and Excellence 2019 by Corporate LiveWire.

HFT: Do you only operate in Johannesburg and Durban?

Wade: For small shoots, we only deal with Durban-based clients. For events and commercial shoots, we shoot nationwide.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience? The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.
