Family fun at Chimp & Zee Rope Adventure Park Ushaka
When it comes to fun, outdoor family adventures, the Chimp & Zee Rope Adventure Park is certainly in a league of its own. They have designed, built and operate a number of adventure activities throughout South Africa – including zip lines, rope adventure parks, freefall jumps and adventure playgrounds.
Let’s just explain a bit; Rope Adventure Parks are made up of individual elevated obstacles or challenges interconnected to form exciting adventure courses. These courses offer elements such as high balancing beams, speedy zip lines, hanging spider nets to jungle rope bridges and many more.
Boasting over 30 obstacles, the Chimp & Zee Ushaka course takes you through and above the Sea World, giving you amazing views of the park, aquarium tanks and the surrounding Durban Point area.
You, your family and friends will need to figure out different approaches and bring certain skill sets to pass every obstacle. It’s a challenging yet thrilling test for both young and old.

“We all loved this brilliant adventure up in the air. It was a delightful experience from the youngest child (6 years) to the teens to myself (43.) I felt like a kid again! The staff were very helpful and professional, and I felt safe the whole time. I’ve been to Ushaka many times before but had never seen it from the air before – what a different experience. I loved all the interesting obstacles, like the surfboards on ropes that you have to balance over and the giant shark in the air! My best was zip lining right over the shark tanks! What a thrill. Sburgin added; “Lots of fun and a great way to pass some time. Views of the aquarium make it all worth it. Helpful staff with one of them retrieving my partners sunglasses when they fell off during one of the obstacles. You wear closed shoes or go barefoot. Would definitely recommend shoes as we went barefoot and our poor feet did get a bit sore over some of the obstacles. Photos are done by request but are a bit expensive r30 a photo and then they are only emailed to you. We enjoyed it and had a great laugh as adults so children will have an amazing time.”
“This place was a real treat for my daughter and I. We spent about 90 minutes here walking over obstacles, shark tanks and pools. The place is well looked after and security for the climbers is top notch,” said Riaz P.
