AKWA House: Your exclusive self-catering accommodation in Hermanus

Travelling to Hermanus as a family or group? The amazing AKWA House provides comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation in the town.

AKWA House, which can be exclusively-rented out, offers beautiful views and easy access of the Hermanus area – its beaches, mountains and the lagoon. It can accommodate between 10 and 12 people at a time.

The house is very family friendly with lounges, balconies and a games room. Needless to say, many of their previous guests had many wonderful things to say about the hospitality, facilities and their overall stays at this house.

Accommodation at the house consists of five comfortable en-suite bedrooms with balconies. The house is very family-friendly with two lounges, a pool table, table-tennis table and a bar area as well as another lounge upstairs.

From the upstairs lounge, balcony and one upstairs bedroom, you can enjoy beautiful 180-degree sea views. There is also a balcony at the back of the house with magnificent mountain views. Each balcony has its own braai area.

Amenities in the house include large comfy beds with high-quality linen, flat-screen smart TVswith DStv and a large & fully-equipped kitchen.

Things to do in Hermanus

From sandy beaches to cultural sites, there is plenty to keep you busy close to AKWA House. Think shark cage diving in Gansbaai, wine tasting, horse riding, quad-bike adventures, paragliding, scuba diving, kayaking, mountain biking, kite surfing, whale watching, hiking, abalone tours, surfing, golfing, birding, fishing, river cruises and various restaurants. Your hosts are always more than happy to make recommendations.

We loved the outside braais and the mountain and sea views from the decks on 2 sides of the house. To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
