A Serene Oasis of Quiet Sophistication – Oceana Palms Luxury Guest House

Oceana Palms Luxury Guest House in Gordons Bay offers four-star bed and breakfast accommodation.

The guest house is perfectly positioned, with huge windows and balconies, to take in the panoramic views of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland Mountains.

I spent two nights in one of the suites and what a pleasure it was. The view from the balcony is fantastic. One of the amazing features of this guest house is that it faces north and has a sea view.

Each morning and evening my girlfriend and I would relax on the balcony taking in the breath taking view across False Bay towards Table Mountain.

The sun deck on the roof is the perfect place to enjoy the fresh air, the magnificent view and to relax on one of the loungers.

Breakfast is included in the rates and a delicious buffet breakfast is served daily in the restaurant or on the terrace. This includes fruit, freshly baked treats, a continental breakfast or a full English breakfast.

The lounge area has a full panoramic sea view and is a great place to be sociable and meet people. There is a pool table, a TV and WiFi. There is also a fully stocked cash bar, and an indoor gas braai area as well as an indoor swimming pool and a gym.

Private airport transfers are also offered on request.

Accommodation at Oceana Palms Luxury Guest House

There are two spacious deluxe suites, a penthouse suite, and four standard double rooms. Each suite has a kitchenette and is modern, stylish and elegant. Each suite has a balcony so that there is nowhere you can escape the breath-taking views.

The deluxe suite in which I spent two nights has all the amenities that you could wish for. A testament to the comfort of this room is that we slept deeply each night.

Everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable is provided. Each room is ensuite, with WiFi, smart TV, a safe, fan, and tea/coffee facilities. There is also air conditioning in the Suites and Penthouse and fans in the other rooms. For the winter months comfortable thick blankets and hot water bottles are provided.

The bathrooms have heated towel rails, the finest organic toiletries, bath robes and slippers and a hair dryer.

The Beach is a thirteen minute walk away and there are numerous restaurants nearby.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience? The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.

Well that’s our theory anyway. It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good

A small, personal spa that is owner run can result in the best massage you have ever experienced. However, the grand spas in five star hotels offer unsurpassed facilities in an environment that just makes the stress in your shoulders and neck melt away before you even finish checking in.

Adventure!

You don’t have to be an adrenaline junky to enjoy an exciting experience. In fact, what are commonly termed adventure activities usually have incredibly high safety standards and unblemished safety records.

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe. It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
