Facilities at Mjejane River Lodge
The restaurant is the perfect spot to meet fellow guests or enjoy a quiet meal while taking in the spectacular scenes over the Crocodile River.
Set in a lush, manicured lawn, the main pool at Mjejane features a unique feature – a shallow shelf that’s wide enough for tables to be set there, so guests can cool their feet while they whet their appetites – and watch the herds do the same – on both sides of the river.
The river attracts a constant stream of game, including large herds of elephants and buffaloes. This is genuine Big 5 country, with the roar of lions and the distinctive call of the leopard often being heard at night – and close by.

mrowlands12345 added; “We stayed here for three nights in January and had the best time. We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were very good and engaging in conversation. The food exceeded our expectations of a safari being plentiful and safari breakfast was always a surprise – maybe not what we would usually have but well thought. The room was great and it was so lovely to able to hear the hippos from our bed. We enjoyed a dip in the pool between our safari trips. The highlight of our stay would be all our safari rides – 6 in total on the reserve and into Kruger. Our guide every time was Shadow He was an absolute delight – very knowledge and thorough and totally made our first safari holiday unforgettable. If you have the opportunity to stay here – Shadow is the guide you should have – he did everything possible to make sure that we saw the big 5 within our stay and he achieved! Mjejane should be very proud of him.”
“We spent one night at this property which was a fantastic experience. The location was exceptional, facing the river in which hippopotamus were dozing and impala and wildebeest were grazing. A family of warthogs was roaming around in the hotel grounds. Wild animals can be viewed directly from the hotel rooms, and we saw lions, elephants and many other game on each safari round. The food was mouth-watering and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the honeymoon suite and the hotel gave a cake to celebrate my birthday,” said piyushaatapattu.
