Accommodation at Oliver’s Restaurant & Lodge

Oliver’s Restaurant & Lodge has 11 luxurious accommodation options to suit every need. Each individually-furnished and decorated room boasts luxurious en-suite facilities, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay. In the Luxury Rooms and Executive Suites, you will also find a fireplace with a cosy seating area in front. Each room category also has a Family option.

Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic getaway, a family on an adventure or a group of friends exploring the wonders of Mpumalanga, Oliver’s has the perfect space for you. Expect balconies with views over the golf course and the surrounds.

The Exclusive Standard Rooms have either King-size or Twin beds in each bedroom. The bedrooms sleep two people and have en-suite bathrooms with separate showers and baths, heated towel rails, luxury bathroom amenities, TVs with DStv, safes, telephone, a minibar with snacks, air-conditioner, heater, coffee/tea facility, hairdryer and bathrobes.

You will find their Luxury Rooms, which can sleep three, in an adjacent building by the pool. These feature a bedroom with spacious verandah on the ground floor with access to both the garden and pool. Inside, you will find individually furnished rooms with cosy seating areas in front of fireplaces and private patios as well as King-size beds – or Twin beds on request.

The bedrooms are en-suite with separate showers and baths, heated towel rails, luxury bathroom amenities, TVs with DStv, safes, telephone, a minibar with snacks, air-conditioner, heater, coffee/tea facility and hairdryers.

There are two spacious Executive Suites, which are situated on the suite on first floor adjacent the Main Lodge. Besides a balcony with garden and golf course views as well as the luxury amenities found in the above suites, the Executive Suites can accommodate a their adult or two children below the age of 12 years.

Families or groups will be happy to know that there is also aLuxury Family House, which is a four-bedroom unit that can sleep eight people.Two of the bedrooms come with King-size beds while the remaining two have Queen-size beds. Inside are two en-suite family bathrooms. The unit also has an open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchenette that opens on to private verandah. Outside are two undercover parking bays.

Smaller families or groups can also opt for the Family Cottage. It features two bedrooms Queen and en-suite bathrooms with shower only. There is also a lounge with fireplace, seating area, kitchen and a private verandah in addition to the other room amenities.

Facilities at Oliver’s Restaurant & Lodge

Oliver’s goes beyond providing comfortable accommodations. They offer a variety of facilities to enhance your stay and cater to your every need. You will love the Oliver’s Restaurant with its award-winning gourmet cuisine. Their a-la-carte menu is served with only the finest South African wines from the well-stocked wine cellar. The cellar can also be used for private, romantic dinners.

Their on-site Wellness and Beauty Centre serves as an idyllic setting for relaxation, regeneration, replenishment and revitalisation in White River. Their services include massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing and more! Their packages allow guests to enjoy a holistic wellness experience whilst visiting.

There is a Wellness and Beauty Clinic on-site with full-time therapists as well as an outdoor kiddies’ play area. Planning a wedding, their wedding venue can cater for up to 100 guests.

Facilities of the White River Country Club include golf, tennis and squash.

Oliver’s Restaurant & Lodge is a place to unwind in a peaceful and tranquil setting, to explore the greater Lowveld. Whilst they do not have on-site safari, they can help you arrange full day/ half day Kruger National Park Safari’s.

The White River Golf Course is on their doorstep. Guests can walk across from Oliver’s to the course and they are also able to assist guests in booking at the famous Leopard Creek Golf Course.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

Spas are the ultimate relaxation aid

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table. 

Well that’s our theory anyway.  It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good

A small, personal spa that is owner run can result in the best massage you have ever experienced.  However, the grand spas in five star hotels offer unsurpassed facilities in an environment that just makes the stress in your shoulders and neck melt away before you even finish checking in.

Adventure!

You don’t have to be an adrenaline junky to enjoy an exciting experience.  In fact, what are commonly termed adventure activities usually have incredibly high safety standards and unblemished safety records.

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe.  It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
