White Shark Projects, located in Gansbaai in the Western Cape, is a world-renowned organisation that focuses on the conservation of a varied abundance of Southern African shark species.
While embracing responsible tourism and research in a safe and professional environment, White Shark Projects offers divers the opportunity to come up close to these beautiful creatures and to understand more about them.
Shark Cage Diving
As experts in their field, White Shark Projects have the highest quality facilities and resources to observe a variety of sharks and marine life within their natural environment.
Their team, with over five decades of experience between them, has been trained to the highest standards set by SAMSA, safety being their number one priority.
From the safety of the cage, divers can observe these beautiful underwater creatures, including The Great white, Bronze Whaler Shark and Seven Gill Cow Shark.
Passengers are limited to twenty per trip and each diver will have approximately 20 -30 minutes inside the cage with six divers at a time, with the opportunity of a second dive as well.
A three-hour trip for divers and non-divers alike includes a safety briefing, a light breakfast and lunch on return, as well as luxury showers and toilets with wheelchair accessibility.
All fully sterilized diving equipment is included. A marine biologist will be present on every trip to give a guided talk on the sharks seen on the trip.
A videographer will also be on board to record your dive experience and this will be available for purchase one week after your trip.
All proceeds from the video sales go back into White Shark Projects ongoing conservation, research and education initiatives. A portion of the proceeds of every dive also goes to one of their three registered NPO’s that as based around social upliftment and development.
