My stay at the 185 on Beach was nothing short of amazing. Located on Beach Road in Gordon’s Bay, there are few better locations in the area.

185 on Beach is situated a few metres away from the sea, which makes for some impressive views of the town as well as the harbour.

The town is located 50 km away from Cape Town and forms part of the Helderberg area. Gordon’s Bay is considered to be one of the many gems that lie just outside Cape Town and regularly see many visitors from around the world.

After driving down a long winding road I quickly realised the beauty that Gordon’s Bay has to offer. The drive took us past several guest houses, each stunning in their own right. When I was parked in front of the 185 on Beach, I was truly blown away at what I saw.

Besides the picturesque setting of the apartments, I was very impressed with the level of service that I was exposed to. The team made every effort to make me feel welcome and settle in. They were on hand should anyone have a question or need any assistance, it is clear that the 185 on Beach Apartments really do put the needs of their visitors first.

I was delighted to find out that I would be spending the night in their Seaside Penthouse Suite. The view of the marina as well as the other side of Gordon’s Bay can be seen from the patio. The sound of the waves breaking was a constant reminder of the perfect location I was staying in.

The pool area is the epitome of luxury. I was delighted to sit back and relax on one of their deck chairs and soak in the views.

The apartments are owned by Lifetime Achievement Awardee for Entertainment, Richard Loring, and his wife Jeanette. Even though the owners were on the other side of the world during my stay, Jeanette was eager to let me know about all the top activities and restaurants within the town. It is clear to see why the 185 on Beach has been awarded TripAdvisor winner for the past seven years.

My only regret during my stay is that I could only spend one night. I would highly recommend a stay at the 185 on Beach Apartments.

A selection of 6 fully self-catering apartments is offered by 185 on Beach. Their apartments are an ideal destination for couples or for groups of friends who wish to explore all that the town has to offer.

Each of their boutique apartments have uninterrupted views of the ocean. Each unit is fully-equipped to ensure that visitors enjoy their stay.

The Seaside Penthouse unit that I stayed in had its own deck and private patio area. I was able to sit back and enjoy a relaxing stay.

Each unit is comfortable and stylish. This establishment maintains an elegant feel.

The 185 on Beach manages to maintain privacy between the units.

Facilities & Breakfast at 185 on Beach

One of the highlights of this establishment is its pool and deck area. The azure swimming pool is a spectacular sight, especially at night time.

The deck area is the perfect place to soak in the rays during those hot summer days. The prospects of enjoying sundowners with loved ones with picturesque views are a possibility at 185 on Beach.

Visitors can choose to enjoy a wholesome breakfast during their stay. Breakfasts are preferably served at their dining table on the deck. Thorough selections from fruits and yogurts, freshly bakes muffins, to full English Breakfasts are served. It was definitely a great way to start my day.

Each room comes fully equipped and allows visitors to enjoy a home away from home experience. Coffee and tea making facilities are available. The team give advice as to which restaurants to visit within Gordon’s Bay should you decide to eat out.

Each apartment has complimentary Wi-Fi as well as Premier DStv. A secure parking area is offered by this establishment.

Guests can enjoy using their own BBQ on their deck or the BBQ on the pool deck; this is a great place to make memories in one of the gems within Gordon’s Bay.
