I recently had the opportunity to spend a night at the Sunshowers Ballito during my recent trip to Ballito – as part of my tour throughout the Kwa-Zulu Natal.
This self-catering accommodation offering is located within a gated group of holiday houses. Upon my arrival, I was instantly blown away by the views that were on offer.
We immediately went upstairs on the balcony area and adored the view and the sound of the irrepressible waves that were found.
Once we had soaked in the beauty of the nearby beach, we knew that there was a lot more exploring that needed to be done. I noticed the amount of natural light that is found inside the establishment.
This is due to the stacked glass doors that lead to the beach, which can be opened up and allows visitors to soak in the sea breeze. Additionally, a large dome, situated on the roof, contributes to the lighting.
Sunshowers is a 4-Star Self-Catering accommodation offering that is located along the pristine shoreline of Ballito, along the Dolphin Coast in Kwa-Zulu Natal. This town is 40km north of Durban.
This establishment offers the perfect location, views and ultimate comfort. A number of amazing restaurants and activities can be found and enjoyed nearby.
Accommodation at Sunshowers Ballito
This establishment can accommodate up to seven adults at a time, making it a great holiday retreat. Each of their three rooms are individual in nature. I had the pleasure of spending the night in their main room.
Their main room has a clear view of the ocean and the sound of the waves breaking was a constant reminder of the location that I found myself in.
The second bedroom consists of two single beds and the third bedroom has a king-sized bed with an additional bed on pedestals.
With 180 degree views of the ocean, few establishments can boast a better seaside escape.
All of their beds are fitted with white percale linen and it made for a comfortable stay. Visitors can also expect ample cupboard space which further adds to the fact that longer stays are ideal.
Facilities at Sunshowers Ballito
This establishment comes equipped with all of the essentials one would expect as well as a few extras!
Visitors can expect a fully furbished kitchen area which includes a fridge, tumble dryer, oven and microwave to name but a few. Coffee and tea making facilities are also found within this vicinity.
A pool table can be found in the central area of the guest house and makes for a great activity for families or groups of friends wishing to enjoy each other’s company.
It was quickly evident that the Sunshowers Ballito takes the security of their visitors seriously. With a number of keys for each section of the house, combined with the security alarm and gate facilities, we definitely felt safe during our stay.
We were surprised to see some board games and puzzles in the lounge area, which was something I had not seen before at any previous stays. It thus removes the difficulty of finding something to do during those rainy days.
Complimentary Wi-Fi and a full DStv package allows for their guests to sit back and relax.
The unit is air-conditioned throughout, which was something that I particularly appreciated as it was a cooker of a day.
The veranda area of the establishment can be opened up and allows for easy beach access. This area has braai facilities and an eight seater dining table additional to the eight-seater just beside the pool table delegated area.
