Porky’s at The Lake is a popular family restaurant located at the Country Club in the Mzingazi Golf Estate, Richards Bay.
With stunning views of the beautiful Mzingazi Lake, as well as a few wildlife sightings, this restaurant has an outdoor seating area, a children’s playground, a lovely lawn area and a swimming pool. It is also wheel chair accessible.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Porky’s at the Lake has a Mediterranean feel, with an extensive diverse menu, generous meal portions and a full bar boasting some stunning cocktails.
Menu Choices at Porky’s at The Lake
There is something to suit every palate – seafood, steaks, sushi, wood-burning pizza, pasta, lamb, pork, chicken dishes, vegetarian and many more specialities.
A few delectable examples to tempt your tastebuds are Spring Rolls stuffed with figs, brie, rocket and Parma ham, served with a honey and soya balsamic reduction dipping sauce or Snails stuffed in litchi’s, smothered in gorgonzola cheese and oven-baked.
Then there is the famous Durban-style Lamb Curry. The Carpetbagger – a fillet steak stuffed with smoked oysters, and topped with ruby port mushroom sauce. The Dons Portuguese Calamari Rings grilled with bacon, olives, garlic & chillies, then all the flavours intertwine in a delicious creamy sauce.
There are delicious gourmet-style wood-burning pizzas, and the Sushi Cakes and Platters are also a favourite for special occasions.
Steaks come in portions from 200g to a 500g T-bone, then for the even bigger appetite, there are +-1kg Beef Tomahawk Steaks, topped with a dollop of garlic butter. Amongst other Pork dishes, Porkys is renown for its Crispy Eisbein, served either traditional or with a honey mustard sauce. Munchie baskets have some wonderful snacky combinations eg. Chicken Fingers, Calamari Rings and Riblets, and there is also a great selection of 200g Pure Beef Patty Burgers.
For those with a sweet tooth there’s a ‘Cake Fridge’ filled with decadent choices as well as a great dessert menu.
Porky’s at The Lake offers a Sunday Buffet Lunch which is very popular, as well as various specials during the week.
Customers can choose to Dine In, and enjoy the stunning view or order Take Aways – which can be delivered.
Porky’s at The Lake is a perfect Venue for birthdays, baby showers, product launches or any other celebration. They will cater for any special occasion, and specialise in weddings too – either at your choice of venue (outside catering service) or at one of theirs at the Club.
The lawn next to the lake is great for a picnic-style informal gathering, or for a more upmarket event, a stretch tent works great. There is also a stunning wooden deck that can be hired out as well as a hall. Customised Catering Set Menu’s are available on request, as well as a Spit-Braai and a Greek Souvla Braai are very popular. Event décor can be provided by the customer, or arranged through Porky’s.
