Paraglide Africa now offers instructional tandem flights in Cape Town, one of the top and most beautiful travel destinations in the world, and is probably one of the most spectacular sites for a paragliding lesson.

Owned by Theunis de Bruin and Rouberre Botha, they are two experienced pilots with a passion for paragliding and a desire to share this with others.

An exhilarating tandem flight includes a paragliding instructor with all the required equipment, pre- and post-flight briefing, assistance during takeoff and landings, and a shuttle back to the starting point.

Your Instructor will record your inflight media which will be available for purchase afterwards and serves as a great reflection on your first paragliding lesson.

Not only does Paraglide Africa offer a great Instructional tandem flight, but for those who want to go further, there are several courses on offer.

Paragliding Courses with Paraglide Africa

Paraglide Africa is a paragliding school which offers paragliding training and tours.

The Introduction Paragliding Course is designed to show you what paragliding is about without having to commit to a full paragliding license. You will learn the basics before progressing to your first solo flight. The course is typical 2 -3 days for R6900
Basic Paragliding License- this course includes basic flying techniques and manoeuvres, with in depth theory and assessments which after completion gains you an internationally recognised license.
The Competent Progression Flyaway Course focuses on thermal technology and theory, active flying, flying with instruments, and stronger wind take off techniques. This is mostly aimed at the progressing pilot.
The XC Progression Course focuses on cross country flying, micrometeorology and competition flying for getting the edge over your competitors.
A beginner’s gear package is available for purchase and includes all the necessary top of the range equipment. For under R70 000 you can have all the necessary equipment to learn, progress and continue your flying career.

Paraglide Africa is a registered SAHPA paragliding school, affiliated to the South African Civil Aviation Association and internationally recognised by the FAI, through the Aero Club of South Africa.

Paragliding is an adventure sport for all, and is offered all year round.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
