Capital Craft Beer Academy, located in Menlo Park, offers a unique and energising dining experience under the trees at the Greenlyn Village Centre.

The food at the restaurant is designed to complement the spicy taste of barley/wheat and hops. Part of their mission is to educate their clientele about the brewing process, the different types of beer and to discover the rich fragrances, aromas and tastes locked away in each beer.

The restaurant is wheel chair accessible, offers indoor and outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, TV and a full bar.

With more than 200 craft beers to choose from they offer tastings, and also great wine options.

The restaurant offers an extensive and interesting menu.

Brunch includes omelettes and a full English breakfast. And interesting options such as a pretzel filled with cream cheese, scrambled egg, honey glazed bacon, spring onion and salad.

A variety of tasty snacks include deep-fried biltong in panto bread crumbs and served with sweet chilli mayo. Crunchy chicken liver nuggets served with peri-peri or BBQ sauce. Pulled pork poppers – jalapenos stuffed with smoked pulled pork, deep fried and served with sour cream and guacamole.

Mains include, salads, a variety of sandwiches made with artisanal bread, speciality beef and chicken burgers, wings, ribs, steaks and platters.

To satisfy the sweet tooth, there are waffles, ice cream and milkshakes.

Children are catered for with a special kid’s menu with all the favourites.

Capital Craft Beer Academy Mobile Bar Service

A professional mobile bar service is available for corporate functions, festivals, events and weddings. They will cater for any event requirements and stock a full bar, including commercial beer, spirits and soft drinks.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.
