Accommodation at Mount Sheba Rainforest Hotel and Resort

Mount Sheba offers a variety of comfortable and cosy accommodation. All rooms are ensuite with fire places and private patios or balconies.

Each hotel suite has a king size bed, a comfortable seating area, a flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, tea/coffee facilities and a bar fridge.

The Executive suite has a separate lounge and a bar fridge which can be stocked on request.

There are self-catering family cottages which sleep six or four. Each with a queen size bed and singles, fully equipped kitchen and an open plan living area. Each Cottage has an inverter that operates during loadshedding.

The resort also offers nine non powered camping sites, preferably for tents, all served by one ablution facility.

Activities

There is a lot to keep you entertained at Mount Sheba – tennis, a games room equipped with darts and a pool table, crazy croquet, outdoor chess, and a children’s play area. There are opportunities for trout fishing and a number of accredited walking trails that take you to breath-taking views and magnificent waterfalls. And if you are looking for relaxation and some pampering, the day spa is the place to be.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience? The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.

Well that’s our theory anyway. It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good
