There are seven different self-catering cottages to choose from at Moonflower. They also co-host two Sunflower Villa’s in Victory Park for larger families being two and three bedrooms respectably with private entrances and gardens situated on the same property.

All their cottages are set in a beautiful garden setting and each is suited for short, medium or long-term stays.

Each cottage has its own private entrance and unique layout and furnishings that create an eclectic ambience.

There are three Garden Cottages; each one comes with one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a shower, an open-plan modern fully-equipped kitchen, the most luxurious towels and linens, an electric blanket and wall-heater for the winter, fan for the summer, a dining and lounge area, TV and a safe for your valuables.

Two of the Garden Cottages have a private patio where you can either enjoy a braai or relax and watch the abundant bird life.

The Executive Cottage is a double storey apartment that can accommodate two people on a Queen-sized bed. The cottage comes equipped with an en-suite bathroom with a shower, electric blanket and wall heaters, fan, fully equipped kitchen, safe and views of the beautiful garden.

Moonflower Studio is a luxury studio apartment that can sleep two people. It comes equipped with a private balcony overlooking the garden and pool, a Queen-sized bed and sleeper couch, an en-suite designer bathroom with a shower, a small modern kitchen, an electric blanket and wall heaters, a fan and an electronic safe.

For a luxury romantic experience, you can enjoy a stay in the Romeo Apartment that can sleep up to two people. This apartment has a double volume lounge area that is separated from the bedroom and en-suite bathroom by the modern, fully-equipped kitchen. Romeo Apartment also provides an electric blanket and wall heaters and a fan.

Honeymooners can enjoy a stay in the Juliet Suite. It comes with a large lounge that is separated from the bedroom and the en-suite bathroom by the modern kitchen. It comes with a beautiful balcony that has a view of the gardens and pool and is equipped with a TV, electric blanket and wall heaters and a fan.

For larger family’s or groups Sunflower Villas have been newly refurbished and furnished have old world charm with polished parquet flooring throughout, consisting of three large bedrooms in Villa One and Two bedrooms in Villa Two with king size beds that can be split to provide for two people sharing plus it has plenty of cupboard space.

There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the second, a shower and a bath. The large open plan modern kitchen is fully fitted and includes a stove with oven, microwave, fridge and all necessary utensils and crockery to self-cater. There is a separate fenced garden and a large swimming pool for relaxing. The entire property is walled and gated with good security and secure undercover and open parking.

Free and secure parking is available for your vehicle during your stay. The outdoor pool will help keep you in shape and cool during those hot summer days. A laundry service is also available upon request. A Virgin Active Gym is situated at the Victory Park Shopping Centre 200m away

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.
