As winter fades away, bringing the much-anticipated summer holiday season into view, the Western Cape becomes a hotspot for families looking to reconnect with one another and nature. A mere 29km from the town of Vanrhynsdorp, Gifberg Holiday Farm turns summer holidays into farm adventures. Surrounded by lush landscapes, book one of their farm-style accommodation and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
Experience nature with a difference this summer at Gifberg Holiday Farm

Gifberg Holiday Farm, throughout the summer holiday season, offers guests the opportunity to experience nature differently. The surrounding beauty of Namaqualand is in full bloom throughout spring and summer with fields of wildflowers, nature pools, and a watercourse similar to the Fish River Canyon.
Nestled within this lush landscape are the farm’s six self-catering chalets. Boasting a farm-style design, the bright red Kleinplasie accommodates up to nine guests in five bedrooms with a braai area available for a traditional South African activity. Larger groups will find a countryside home away from home in the Groothuis, comfortably hosting up to thirteen guests.
Decorated in a more natural style than a traditional farmhouse, the Kliphuis, Kranshuis, Tuinhuis, and Rivierhuis accommodate between four and seven guests, making them ideal for groups and families. Each of these houses contains a braai area and is surrounded by surreal landscapes, ensuring an unforgettable stay this holiday season.
While guests at Gifberg Holiday Farm adore the self-catering chalets, the farm also provides a camping site. Grass standing at the camping site includes a braai area, two unisex showers with a basin, two unisex toilets, and a shared dishwashing area. However, the camping site does not supply guests with electricity.
Hiking trails, 4×4 routes and facilities

At Gifberg Holiday Farm, a range of activities and facilities have been purposefully designed for a summer adventure. Days can be spent at the ten-meter by fifteen-meter swimming pool. Filled with sparkling, clear filtered water, dive in or sunbathe in its surrounding lawn with shade trees and flowerbeds.
In the surrounding areas, a variety of hiking trails are available. The Potholes Walk is just a short 2km, where bush paintings can be spotted, while the Hamerkop Trail is still a beginner-appropriate 4km long. Hiking enthusiasts who want a longer trail will love the 9km Gifboom Trail and the 21km Bushman Trail.
4×4 routes are also available, but will require more intermediate skills to navigate the rocky and sandy terrain. Guests who take the journey will arrive at the Doring River, where, with permission, camping is allowed.
