If you were ever looking for a trendy place to sit down and enjoy amazing handcrafted ice cream, milkshakes and the best waffles, then I recommend you pop into one of the Scoop Handmade Ice Cream outlets.
During my excursions in Ballito, I stopped by their store at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre – that was a great decision! The store itself is a perfect fit for its surroundings.
The ideal location of the store has led to a number of customers, many of whom have become loyal followers of Scoop Handmade Ice Cream.
Scoop Ice Cream is owned and run by Amanda Maidman. After a number of years involved with the hotel and restaurant industry, she decided to take a step back and re-evaluate her career path. It was then that things fell into place and her love for producing ice cream sparked into life.
Amanda allowed my friend and me to taste their range of ice cream on display. Their wide variety of flavours amazed me. It was their Madagascan Vanilla ice cream that became a favourite of mine.
I also enjoyed a quality cappuccino during my visit.
Amanda explained that she is a firm believer in seeing the potential of people. All of her staff are locals that she has either trained, or has sent to be trained in the art of ice cream making.
This love for people and ice cream is the perfect combination. It was definitely one of the cool-est places I have been to.
Scoop Handmade Ice Cream branches
Scoop has currently got two branches, one in the Lifestyle Centre in Ballito and the other on Florida Road in Durban. Visitors can expect the same quality and creative look at both branches, although the locations themselves are very different.
The Scoop in Ballito is situated within a boutique mall and allows for visitors to stroll through the shops, taking in all the beauty that it contains. Their store is located in the market area.
The Scoop on Florida Road is located in one of the busier areas of Durban. Visitors can escape the hustle and bustle when popping in and enjoying their treat of choice.
Menu at Scoop Ice Cream
Although Scoop is primarily an ice cream store, they certainly offer a great range of delectable offerings.
The menu at Scoop offers great variety. A selection of tasty waffles and refreshing milkshakes will definitely fulfil any sugar cravings one might have.
Their selection of sorbets are vegan and Scoop has a range of sugar free ice creams called The Innocent Range.
The team is able to assist when it comes to picking out the perfect cake for special events. Their bespoke cakes use a single flavour as a base and are then topped off with a number of other flavours.
Amanda makes every effort for all of her products to contain natural ingredients.
