The setting is idyllic. The Buffeljags River, with stunning waterfalls and rock pools, runs the length of the farm. A serene lake, fed by a spring, mountain views and green pastures where cattle and horses graze, all add to a wonderful sense of peace.
Accommodation at Somerset Gift Getaway Farm
The farm offers five charming self-catering cottages and a manor house, all set in manicured gardens and with a large grassy area where children can play.
The cottages are well spaced and set apart from each other to create privacy, but close enough should you wish to socialise.
The pristine accommodation is spacious, light and airy, and tastefully appointed with antique and Cape cottage furniture, creating an authentic and relaxed farm house atmosphere.
Each cottage comprises a fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, indoor fire place, uncapped WiFi, a covered patio with seating, dining and braai facilities as well as a wood fired hot tub.
Something to look out for are their mid-week special rates.
Activities
Whether you just want to relax on your patio, or partake of the many activities that are available, Somerset Gift Getaway Farm has something for everyone.
On site activities include, swimming, canoeing, zip lining, fishing, hiking mountain biking, forest walks, bird watching, a children’s playground, hiking trails and horse riding. For golfers, there is a nearby golf course.
