Discover the Perfect Blend – Golf, Wine and Luxury Accommodation at De Zalze Lodge

The elegant Cape Dutch Vernacular Style De Zalze Lodge is situated on a wine farm and golf estate close to the historic town of Stellenbosch.

This luxurious retreat is set against the first fairway of the De Zalze Golf Course and overlooks lush vineyards and the breathtaking Stellenbosch Mountains.

The lodge offers a variety of accommodation, including self-catering suites with fully equipped kitchenettes. For dinner options Lievens Restaurant at the De Zalze Golf Club offers excellent fare, while the hotel will gladly assist you in making a reservation at one of the many popular Stellenbosch restaurants.

Breakfast is served at the Kleine Zalze Restaurant which is approximately a hundred metres from the lodge. The restaurant is also open for lunch serving top quality food with regular menu changes.

De Zalze Lodge Accommodation

De Zalze Lodge offers a variety of accommodation – standard rooms, mountain view standard rooms, superior rooms and the classic one-bedroom Shiraz. Each room is tastefully decorated in fresh, bright and cheerful colours.

All accommodation is ensuite with a shower, heated towel rails and complimentary toiletries. There is air conditioning, underfloor heating, satellite TV, internet, a safe, a small bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.

The self-catering family suites have one bedroom and a sleeper couch. The living area is open plan with a comfortable lounge and dining area and a fully equipped kitchenette, and some units have a small balcony.

There is twenty-four-hour security and each unit is equipped with an inverter, so there is no interruption with electricity supply. The inverters support USB plugs, lights, TV and Wi-Fi.

Activities

The Lodge offers one of the finest golf courses in the Cape, wine tasting, mountain bike trails and walks through the vineyards. There is the historic town of Stellenbosch nearby, or an opportunity to just relax on one of the sun loungers and soak up the sun next to the beautiful rim flow pool.

Conferences

De Zalze Lodge offers standard conference packages as well as tailor made arrangements to suit your requirements.

The main conference venue can be set up in various styles and can host up to fifty delegates. The venue opens on to a spacious balcony that overlooks the first fairway of the De Zalze Golf Estate.

Their team is fully equipped to ensure a seamless event and stay.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
