Things to do in Hluhluwe
Bonamanzi Game Reserve covers an area of 4000-ha and is home to four of South Africa’s famed Big 5 – except lions. There is plenty to keep you and your loved occupied for days.
Since there are no lions, you and the kids can take part in interactive bush experiences with or without a trained field guide. Being in the bush is an experience, which no TV can ever replicate.
Birders also love the reserve for its many species and varieties.
The area still offers many activities including informative guided walks, game drives, boat cruises down the Hluhluwe River, bird safaris as well as unguided walks that you can take on their marked trails.
Reviews from previous Bonamanzi Game Reserve guests
“We loved our stay in this beautiful reserve. We had great sightings of both game and birds and loved the meandering roads through the sand forest and the flood plains next to the river. Our well-equipped tree house had everything we needed, and we were so excited to have two special garden visits by a beautiful genet. Thank you, we will be back again!” wrote Tezz O on their TripAdvisor page.
