One of my favourite lunch time venues on the Garden Route is the wonderful restaurant at Bramon Wine Estate. Situated 20 kms east of Plettenberg Bay at The Crags, this delightful eatery is set in the vineyards.
This stylish and charming venue has shady tables where you can dine right in amongst the vines in the summer. In the winter the central fire place creates a cosy and warm atmosphere.
A must for tapas lovers, the warm, freshly baked breads, for which Bramon is famous, may be combined with the tapas spread.
The menu is extensive with lots of interesting things to choose from. With the emphasis on freshness and flavour, all are superbly prepared and served.
Tapas include salads, dips and pate, meats, fish and seafood, soup, and cheeses with figs and nuts, and sauces.
Delicious preserves of watermelon, green fig and onion marmalade.
A lovely way to spend a lazy afternoon at Bramon Wine Estate is to enjoy a picnic under a tree by the dam. Family and dog friendly, you can select your own gourmet treats and wine to fill your basket.
Let’s not forget the wines from the Estate either. The Bramon MCC is excellent and, if in stock, I always buy a bottle or two when passing buy.
A Trendy Setting for a Function at Bramon Wine Estate
Bramon Wine Estate caters for functions, weddings, corporate and team building events and gigs, with gourmet food paired with their award winning wines.
The cathedral-like cellar is a great place for an event with a difference. The acoustics are highly rated and guests can sit between the vats and wines of a working cellar.
The tasting room is a great place to relax and discuss the wines with Bramon Wine Estate’s wine maker, Anton Smal.
