Denis Bouckaert was the Belgian restaurateur who laid the foundation for Den Anker. Driven by his passion to bring traditional Belgian cuisine to Cape Town, the restaurant has grown over the past thirty years, becoming a beloved landmark that attracts local and international diners. The restaurant, one of the first to open at the Waterfront, has experienced many changes but remains strong thanks to its dedicated staff, who are at the heart and soul of the establishment.
The restaurant has wall-to-wall windows that showcase breathtaking views of the iconic Table Mountain worthy of any postcard. Enjoy a table on the terrace where diners can take in the spectacular views of the working harbour, as well as the swooping seagulls and playful seals.
