Action-Packed Events Line-up Announced for Packshed Restaurant in Serenity Hills

The beautiful Packshed Restaurant, set within the coastal forest of Serenity Hills eco-focused estate in Margate, is once again hosting an evening of quality entertainment and great food. On Friday, 1 August, The Packshed Restaurant welcomes Robin Auld, the international recording artist and outstanding musician.

“Alongside the popular Sweetdale Night Market and our Sweet Gang & Friends Farm Stall, The Packshed Restaurant is excited to welcome renowned South African musician, Robin Auld,” commented Ryne Ferguson, Serenity Hills Estate Manager. “This is another great opportunity to enjoy a night out with live entertainment and The Packshed’s award-winning cuisine. We’re also hosting another Wine & Dine evening in August, this time in collaboration with the exquisite Boplaas Wine Estate. We encourage people to book early for these events as space is limited!”

An Evening with Robin Auld

Date: Friday, 1 August

Start Time: 5.30pm

Cost: R350 per person includes welcome drink, plated meal, and performance.

Slide guitar, harmonica, African blues guitar stylings and soul vocals all form part of Robin Auld’s fresh sound. Familiar to South Africans from his hits All of WomanBaby You Been Good, and Perfect Day, Robin Auld’s music has evolved from the pop rock sound of his early hits into a contemporary mix of roots and blues.

Based in Cape Town, he has performed and recorded in New York, London, Glasgow and Nashville, performing at festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Tartan Hearts, Gold Coast Ocean Fest, and Womad. His latest album, The Everlovin’ Wind has enjoyed a great reception, with his singles Underground and Country Mile topping the charts.

Sweetdale Night Market

Date: Friday, Friday, 25 July (Last Friday of every month)

The Sweetdale Night Market is a fun-filled night out event for the entire family. Visitors can enjoy an evening of live music, fresh-farm products, unique food stalls, delicious drinks and other amazing artisanal stands selling handmade products. This is a pet-friendly event with backup power that is weatherproof and completely free to enter!

Boplaas Estate Wine & Dine

Date: 7 August

Starts: 6pm for 6.30pm

The Packshed Restaurant is thrilled to announce a Wine & Dine evening in collaboration with Boplaas Wine Estate. They will be serving a fine-dining, 5-course set menu paired with exclusive wines from Boplaas!

Sweet Gang & Friends Farm Stall

Wednesdays to Sundays

Serenity Hills is also home to the must-visit Sweet Gang & Friends Farm Stall, a cosy yet dynamic hub offering an impressive selection of delicious food and handcrafted treasures. Located adjacent to The Packshed Restaurant, the farm stall is ‘locals supporting local’ with fresh produce such as fresh butter, eggs, and baked goods. Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

However, the best restaurants come with the best of service, food and ambiance.

Spas are the ultimate relaxation aid

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table. 

Well that’s our theory anyway.  It also doesn’t take a grand location with enormous facilities for a spa to be really good

A small, personal spa that is owner run can result in the best massage you have ever experienced.  However, the grand spas in five star hotels offer unsurpassed facilities in an environment that just makes the stress in your shoulders and neck melt away before you even finish checking in.

Adventure!

You don’t have to be an adrenaline junky to enjoy an exciting experience.  In fact, what are commonly termed adventure activities usually have incredibly high safety standards and unblemished safety records.

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe.  It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
