Everything about the Banneton Bakery shouts perfection. This is no old house that has been converted into a quaint but comfortable café, but a custom made bakery and restaurant.
The moment you step through the door, you know that you are in for a treat. The subtle smokiness from wood-fired baking oven, the sharp, caffeinated aromas from the espresso machine and the malty, heavenly smells of freshly baked bread are simply awesome.

In winter, the sunny veranda and window tables are bright and balmy and the tables and bench adjacent to the oven, are comfortably warm. In summer, the sliding doors open to let in the refreshingly cool air.
I am a firm believer that owner-run restaurants are always the best and Banneton bakery is a family-run affair that clearly supports my opinion. Expect happy and cheerful assistance from everybody from the barista to the baker. The décor is part-functional and part-comfort and attractively pulled together.
There is no doubt in my mind that the best baguettes, rye and ciabatta breads are baked at the Banneton bakery. The restaurant serves amazing breakfasts, each accompanied by a two pots of preserves and another of butter. If the waiter asks if you want extra bread, just say “Yes please!”
The menu has a heavy Italian influence thanks to the wood-fired oven and only the best ingredients are used. Wagyu beef, excellent cheeses and fresh herbs, salads and vegetables are deliciously and artfully combined into very tasty meals. Great food, service and ambiance and the best breads in town!
