Dining delight at Urban Angel Cafe

Urban Angel is a favourite for most people in the know. With impeccable food and service, this little-hidden gem has grown from strength to strength over the years.

From 01 September, Urban Angel now calls 134 Kayburn Avenue, Randpark Ridge, home, while continuing to offer ‘great food that won’t cost you the earth’ says owner and chef, Iain Knox.

Unpretentious, clean eating is what makes Urban Angel a dining delight. Banting, vegetarian and vegan options are the order of the day with a focus on good, wholesome, locally sourced produce.

“With clean eating and speciality foods markets booming nationwide, consumers are looking for quality food coupled with a quality shopping experience. Savvy consumers are starved for ingredients seen on cooking shows and in food magazines and we offer precisely that,” says owner and chef, Iain Knox.

The eatery’s menu is extensive and mainly popular for their superb breakfasts; with items such as cauliflower and bacon rostis, vegetable hash bowls and a wide variety of eggs benedict on the menu.

Go for lunch and sink your teeth into tapas, risottos and char-grilled delights. They offer a summer and winter menu showcasing in-season produce.

The on-site bakery has an assortment of breads and sweet treats to take home and enjoy.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience? The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.

Ziplining, bungy jumping and shark cage diving are all very safe. It’s just that our mind tells us we are craaazzzzyyyy to be doing this.
