My friend and I had a craving for sushi and wine – as we usually do, and visited Pearl Harbour, in Lonehill, Johannesburg, on a recent Sunday afternoon.
On entering, we immediately felt like we were at a sea-food restaurant down at the coast. The décor is bright and inviting and the establishment has an impressive sushi belt in the centre. Being a lovely spring afternoon, we decided to sit on the large balcony outside and enjoyed the Lonehill vistas.
Their staff is friendly and accommodating; our waitress, Jada, was simply brilliant.
I found the menu extensive with something for everyone from sushi and seafood, to wraps, salads and off the grill steaks as well as various pasta dishes.
They do have a kiddies section on the menu, which is great if you are bringing them along. Speaking of children, we enjoyed our drinks (shoes off) in the section they have with beach sand instead of typical flooring!
We shared a variety of their sushi offerings.
Our favourite being the ‘Prawns Reloaded’ – delicious California rolls topped with deep fried prawns in a spicy mayo sprinkled with spring onion. It was so good that we had a second helping later on!
We will definitely be back at the Pearl Harbour, perhaps to try a seafood platter or their steaks.
Note: Enjoy half-price Sushi on Tuesdays; partners get 50% off on Date night Wednesday and try their Quiz night on Thursdays. They’re also the Official Liverpool supporters club in the North.
