For many people – and rightly so, it’s easy to associate Jeffreys Bay with surfing. The town is world-renowned for its supertubes and as the host of the annual Corona Open J-Bay during their Winterfest, but outside of the surfing season, there is still so much to see and do in the town.
Jeffreys Bay offers what I like to call, true paradise. Nestled between nature reserves, rivers and estuaries that open up onto white sandy beaches, the town is an ideal destination for laidback romantic, group or family weekends.
If like me, you need a comfortable place to stay at in the town, I recommend you check in at the 4-Star Seashells Luxury Apartments, located on the beachfront. Here, you can always expect to find tranquil, private and spacious, luxury apartments with unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean.
Arriving at Seashells Luxury Apartments after a short drive from Port Elizabeth, I was welcomed by their friendly staff and the manager, Estelle, and immediately felt right at home.
Speaking to Estelle, she said that they “endeavour to deliver what we promise and our guests appreciate that”. They did go out of their way to ensure I was comfortable during my stay, including giving me pointers about the various attractions and activities in the town and its surrounds.
As the name suggests, Seashells Luxury Apartments offers exclusive, serviced apartments, and the décor is of a contemporary style. All the apartments are spacious and offer clean comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you will need to cook up a romantic dinner or a full family feast. The kitchen leads to a lounge area and a wide terrace with private braai facilities.
If you are not too keen to eat out at the many fine restaurants dotted across the town, the Seashells Luxury Apartments staff can still serve you a delectable breakfast on request at a minimal cost in their breakfast/conference facility. The conference facility can easily seat up to 45 delegates.
For your added convenience, there is a laundry facility, housekeeping service, telephone, satellite TV, DVD Player, gym and Wi-Fi access. Besides on-site security, for your peace of mind, they also provide a shuttle service to the Port Elizabeth International Airport.
There is a lot to do in J-Bay, from surfing to tandem sky-diving, sand boarding, whale and dolphin watching, beach horse riding, ocean diving, kiting and quad biking. The town is a seashell collectors’ paradise with over 400 types of seashells. Nearest game farms are just 15 minutes out of town!
If you are heading to J-Bay this summer for some fun in the sun – and in need of a place to stay, call 042 293 1104 or visit www.seashell.co.za today.
