Molo Lolo Restaurant opens french cooking school in Addo

The Molo Lolo Restaurant & Cooking School is a new challenge for Laurence Armand, Founder and CEO of the Molo Lolo Group. This unique concept, offers the opportunity to students from Eziko cooking school, in Langa township in Cape Town and students from Ecole hoteliere de La Rochelle in France to learn together with a genuine French Chef! It is a unique opportunity for them to learn and share their culture.

The Cooking School is located on the property of Addo African Home, Lodges and Safari Tents, at the entrance of the Addo Elepahant National Park, Eastern Cape.

The restaurant gives the opportunity to guests and residents to discover a new type of food; a fusion between South African and French cuisine.

The opening was a great success and brought over 70 people from all over the world to the Molo Lolo Restaurant. Among those various guest, they had the pleasure to receive, Laurent Amar, the General Consul of France in Cape Town, who did a really inspiring and powerful speech about businesses developing in South Africa with the local community.

They also hosted guests that came directly from France, such as Marie Jose Raout, director of the Lycée Hotelier of La Rochelle, Marjorie Bastard, director of Ecole Superieur de commerce de La Rochelle and Eric Bingo, director of Eziko cooking school in Cape Town.

Rune Simphiwe, representative of the Municipality of Addo, insisted on the importance of the France- South African exchange.

A multi-cultural experience filled with emotion!

This unique concept offers the opportunity to South African students, coming from disadvantage environments, to acquire real cooking training and to share with students from La Rochelle the requirements of French cuisine. It also offers students from France the opportunity to live a unique experience among a new culture.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.
