There are three different accommodation types on offer at Thali Thali – namely the self-catering chalets, the B&B luxury tents and the self-catering farmhouse.

The fully-furnished self-catering chalets consist of a double bedroom, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a living area, a fully-equipped kitchen and a sleeper couch for extra guests. A two-bedroom chalet is perfect for families as it comes with a second bedroom with two sets of bunk beds.

The units come equipped with a TV with DStv as well as indoor and outdoor braai facilities next to the stoep. The chalets are situated near the restaurant and playground for the children.

The B&B luxury tents come with a beautiful double bedroom, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette and a sleeper couch for extra guests. A braai is available on the patio so guests can enjoy a meal under the stars.

No TV’s are in these units, which makes it perfect for guests, who want the full outdoors experience with a little bit of style.

The self-catering farmhouse is the newest addition to Thali Thali, Ouma se Huis is separated from the rest of the accommodation units and comes with four large bedrooms; perfect for large families. There are two sharing bathrooms with a bath and shower, a kitchen with a large fireplace, an entertainment area, TV with DStv and an enclosed garden.

In addition to providing excellent accommodation, Thali Thali also functions as a wedding venue and has a conferencing facility. The wedding venue and conferencing facility can accommodate up to 100 guests.

There are three different open game viewing vehicles on offer at Thali Thali, each with different capacities that adapt to the needs of the guests. Trained guides will take you on a 90-minute guided tour, giving you a chance to spot as many of their wildlife as possible.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance.  Of these, service is the most important. 

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion.  However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review.  We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.

How do you know when you have had a great spa experience?  The answer, of course, is when you doze off on the treatment table.
