Addo is a hamlet on the edge of the Addo Elephant National Park and offers a host of accommodation including Bed and Breakfasts, hotels, guest houses, chalets and camping.
The village itself is rather small and is limited to a petrol station, grocery store, police station, post office and a few banks. However, the surrounding area is home to a thriving farming community.
Interspersed amongst the orchards, fields and irrigation canals are some wonderful places to stay, most of which are just a few kilometres away from the entrance to the Addo Elephant National Park.
Many of these guest houses and hotels offers tours into the park in in open sided vehicles driven by a knowledgeable tour guide.
Addo lies on the banks of the Sundays River and the entire valley, including the villages of Kirkwood, Sunlands and Colchester, make this area a pleasant place to visit.
The valley has a number of other attractions too. Good restaurants, adrenaline activities, boat cruises and bird watching making it an interesting place to visit.

While Addo elephants are accustomed to safari vehicles, there is nothing more thrilling than a close encounter with a curious elephant – tusks raised and trunk sniffing around, while your heart races with sheer delight.
