Intle Game Lodge is located just 7km off the N2. It’s just 60km away from the Port Elizabeth Airport and a short distance away from the famous surf town of Jeffrey’s Bay.

Situated on the highest mountain, you will be able to see beautiful surroundings and the beaches of Jeffrey’s Bay.

Intle is Xhosa for beautiful, amazing, wow, which captures the atmosphere of the Game Lodge perfectly. This also because owner Tracy Roelofson has a knowledge and passion for restaurants and hospitality that just cannot be beat.

Accommodation at Inlte Game Lodge

You can choose between ten accommodation offerings at Intle – each named after an animal you can spot when going for a game drive on the property. There are superior rooms, suites and a presidential room & few of the rooms can accommodate a child under the age of 12.

All rooms are beautifully decorated and have their own private views of the mountains and Jeffrey’s Bay, all with their own balcony.

The rooms are equipped with King-sized or twin beds and the en-suite bathrooms have an elegant shower and the suites have a deep-soak bath tub as well – the perfect way to relax after a hard day.

Facilities & dining at Intle Game Lodge

Intle has a terrific restaurant called SigNature, which serves up world-class dining for both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant has an incredible 360-degree view so you can enjoy great sights while dining on delectable dishes.

You can enjoy traditional South African cuisine and wine that has been carefully selected by the owners. The menu caters to every palate and changes daily. Should you have any dietary requirements; the chef will be glad to accommodate you!

All food is freshly prepared on the day and the menu can vary from light lunches to three-course lunches & dinners.

The Chef’s Choice eight-course taster is on the cards which consist of three starters, two mains and two desserts so watch this space.

Of course you can’t pay a visit to Intle Lodge and not go for a game drive. Day visitors need to simply book in advance to secure a trip for themselves.

Game drives at Intle Lodge consists of a Buffalo feeding experience, then a trip onto the deck for a light breakfast for a morning trip or lunch for an afternoon Game Drive. After lunch, visitors can experience some skeet shooting; where each person get 12 rounds.

Guests can continue their game drive in a 4×4 over rough terrain from 32 degree slopes to a 45 degree climb. Top off your game drive adventure by taking in the view from the deck – a total trip takes between three hours.

Game drives are charged at R625 per person. Game that can be spotted during a drive are giraffe, buffalo, nyala, kudu, water buck, blesbok, zebra, impala and the blue wilderbees.

While they may not have the Big 5, this was intentionally done so that guests could walk about the lodge freely without worry.

Intle is also a premier wedding destination and can cater for any other function such as birthdays, Christmas parties and more.

My experience at Intle Game Lodge

The beauty of the location and the lodge are breath-taking the moment you arrive. I was blown away by the incredible view when I arrived at Intle Game Lodge.

The owners were there to welcome me right at the front door and made me feel right at home. My room was incredible and offered such an amazing view of the ocean and some wild buck grazing.

Dinner and breakfast was a treat I will always remember, if I could, I would have asked for a second helping of dessert!

I will absolutely return to Intle Game Lodge one day!
