Located in the Karoo town of Montagu, Capedry Montagu Farmstall is the perfect little stopover for travellers heading down the famous Route 62.
With delicious fresh snacks and a beautiful fully-stocked curio shop, travellers can sample various Karoo delights and spend a few minutes checking out the unique items on offer.
The stall was established in 1991 by owner, Lizbe Viljoen. She started off simply selling dried fruits and nuts known as Capedry.
It has since grown into a much larger and increasingly popular operation with the locals that Lizbe had to build a bigger factory shop with enough space.
Today, you can get a wide variety of Capedry products such as Apple Rings, Cape Peeled Peaches, Royal Apricots and a variety of nuts, seeds and sweets.
A GREAT VARIETY ON OFFER
Besides their dried fruits and nuts, the Capedry Montagu Farmstall also has homemade products such as jams, chutney, rusks biltong and olive oil on offer. An assortment of teas and coffees can also be found on their shelves.
Fruits of excellent quality are produced here thanks to the many orchards in the surrounding area, which produce fruits such as peaches, pears, apples, apricots and more.
Another fabulous attraction of the Capedry Montagu Farmstall is their Wine Boutique. Here, travellers can get their hands on some top-notch wine labels to take home with. All the wine comes from the local vineyards of Montagu and the Breede River Valley.
