Fine wine meets fine accommodation at Marianne Wine Estate

Marianne Wine Estate

Stellenbosch is famous for its endless supply of wine farms that produce internationally-acclaimed wines and picturesque high-class accommodation. If you ever travel through Stellenbosch, you will see that the Marianne Wine Estate is the perfect combination of high-class wines and accommodation.

Established in 2004 by owner, Christian Dauriac, the Marianne Wine Estate is the perfect blend between French and South African wine. For the past 15 years, they have been producing small batches of premium wines from the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains.

Christian has been making wine in Bordeaux for over 30 years. He chose the name ‘Marianne’ as a symbol of the French heritage of the property and to commemorate the Huguenot roots of South African winemaking.

The vines are 17 years of age on average and farm management and staff have remained the same for the past 12 years – making them a close-knit family. They are known for the quality of their terroir that certain wine aficionados refer to as the ‘Golden Mile’ of Stellenbosch.

The Marianne Wine Estate is also home to a 4-star guesthouse and offers three different styles of accommodation to choose from; the Manor House, the four Lofts and the L’Ermitage.

The Manor House is a beautiful South African farmhouse reminiscent of Cape Dutch architecture. It has five rooms including a family apartment, and easy access to the manor house lounges.

Just a short walk from the cellar and tasting room, it offers panoramic views, a fabulous swimming pool a game room and a chapel.

The Lofts are located in the heart of Marianne Wine Estate and have wonderful views of Table Mountain and the wine cellar. They each have their own feeling and style, but offer the same comfort and quality. Each one comes with their own en-suite bathroom and spacious living room.

Meanwhile, the l’Ermitage Villa has seven beautiful bedrooms built right in the middle of the vines. Newly-opened, these rooms will not only amaze you by their look and feel, but also by the views they offer. To add to this little hidden gem, it has a swimming pool and a braai area. You won’t ever want to leave!

The on-site restaurant, the Floreal, offers a comfortable dining experience, creating fantastic dishes paired with their expertly crafted wines.
