When it comes to location, I have to say that the Bushmanspad Estate could not have found a better one. The lush green of the vineyards, the wide-open spaces, and the majestic Langeberg Mountain will leave you feeling totally at peace and humbled by the beauty of nature.

The five country-style self-catering cottages are situated so that you will have un-interrupted panoramic views of the Robertson Valley.

The cottages can accommodate four people; two adults and two children, which makes it the perfect location for a family looking for a quiet and refreshing vacation.

The cottages are fitted with a fully-equipped kitchen for all your self-catering needs, which includes a stove, microwave, oven, kettle, toaster and cutlery. The cottages are equipped with a Queen-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a sleeper couch for the kids, fresh ground coffee and tea-making facilities, TV, and an indoor fireplace with complimentary wood. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

You can access the garden area from the stoep and have a traditional South African braai at the foot of the cliff.

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
