The Walmer Golf Club was founded in 1897, which makes it one of the oldest golf clubs in the country. Situated in the leafy suburb of Walmer, the golf estate is very easy to access and is a mere 15-minute drive from the Port Elizabeth airport.
It is a nine-hole course with 18 different tee-boxes. Surrounded by a new golfing estate, it provides any golfer with many challenging holes, regardless of their handicap.
Its signature hole is the par-three 6th, which is only 127 meters long. However, one’s tee shot must be accurate, to avoid getting the ball in the large pond.
When the estate was established on the golf course in 2005, a new clubhouse was built, as well as five new and challenging greens. A state-of-the-art water reticulation system ensuring wellwatered fairways and greens throughout the year was also installed.
In addition to its picturesque fairways, ponds and bunkers, the club has a warm and friendly atmosphere making it a social hub and an ideal setting for various corporate functions and events.
The Walmer Golf Estate can cater for private parties, functions, business meetings, corporate golf days and team building activities.
If you or your guests are beginners to golf, the Walmer Golf Estate has coaching facilities where professional golfers can teach all ages.
