Recently opened, The Willockx Boutique Hotel is a truly magnificent, intimate and tranquil Mediterranean-style boutique hotel situated in the safe and peaceful suburb of Parkhurst, just minutes away from Rosebank – an ideal location for your stay in Johannesburg.
Parkhurst has seen a lot of change since it was developed as a suburb in 1904, but it wasn’t until 1938 that a couple of shops sprung up.
The hustle and bustle of Parkhurst’s 4th Avenue became known when, in the 1970’s the first antique store opened its doors and soon after more followed suit becoming affectionately known as ‘Antique alley’.
It was only when the first coffee shop welcomed the residents in the mid-1990’s that Parkhurst got its big transformation. Parkhurst was one of the first suburban high streets to offer street-side café dinning and the Parkhurst restaurant culture grew rapidly from there.
Today, Parkhurst offers a variety of dinning, interior design, small businesses and couture, its quaint and glamourous all rolled into one. Whether it’s the antique shops, multitude of different high street stores or the large assortment of eateries in between, the only thing that stays the same is the energy of Parkhurst’s main drag.
More than a home away from home, The Willockx Boutique Hotel owner, Ken Willockx and his partner, Nisa Moseki, take pride in making sure your stay is a memorable one.
Each of the four rooms has its own unique look and feel.
The rooms are very large with private balconies, and breath-taking views. Full DStv bouquet, Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, underfloor heating and lovely bathrooms make your stay a very comfortable one.
The Willockx Boutique Hotel has such a homely feel about it, sitting on the terrace you’d be forgiven to think that you have arrived somewhere in France or Spain or another beautiful Mediterranean locale for that matter.
Ken and Nisa serve a fantastic continental breakfast. Cold cut meats, cheeses, croissants and fresh bread awaited us in the morning, oh and he will gladly make you bacon and eggs if you require.
Ken is a Belgian chef and will take pre-booked requests for dinner; I can only imagine how delicious a dinner would be based on our breakfast alone.
The Willockx Boutique Hotel also caters for weddings, conferences and birthdays.
If you are looking for a genuine boutique hotel, where you want to relax and be close to everything the city has to offer, then The Willockx ticks all boxes.
