Accommodation at Kgalagadi Lodge

There is a variety of accommodation types to choose from at Kgalagadi Lodge, from the Luxury Chalets with state-of-the-art facilities to the Campsites where you can enjoy a night under the beautiful African sky.

There are five different Chalets to choose from, namely the Luxury, Family, Standard, Business and Luxury Camp Chalets. Each one is beautifully decorated, spacious and fitted with all the necessary amenities to make your stay more comfortable.

All Chalets come equipped with air-conditioning, TV with DStv, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, kitchenette with a minibar fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. You can also utilise the outdoor braai facilities and enjoy a traditional South African cookout.

Most of the chalets allow for self-catering for those who prefer to enjoy their own meals and cooking during their stay. For those who want a total luxury experience, you can choose to stay in the Kgalagadi Luxury Villa that can accommodate up to six guests and has two bathrooms.

Kgalagadi Lodge has 15 camping sites to choose from for those who would like to take a walk on the wild side. Each site has its own ablution facilities for your comfort.

The lodge also has its own swimming pool where you can go to cool off during those boiling summer days.

A new offer at Kgalagadi Lodge is the 4×4 rental service that allows you to explore the beautiful natural landscape of Kgalagadi National Transfrontier Park. Rentals are hassle-free and the vehicle can even be delivered to Upington Airport for guests who fly in for a visit.

Restaurants with a good mix of service, food and ambiance

To my mind a great restaurant offers three things – excellent service, great food and a wonderful ambiance. Of these, service is the most important.

No matter that the food is delicious and the setting delightful, poor service can ruin the occasion. However, great service combined with mediocre meal and a plane jane restaurant can still be a pleasant night out.

We’ve eaten in restaurants that are really dirty but with incredible food and couldn’t help but give a rave review. We’ve also hardly noticed what we ate because the setting was just amazing.
