Lady Grey Walk Cottage is a comfortable and spacious Cape Dutch styled house, with a cosy atmosphere and ample space for all the family, where you can kick off your shoes and relax.
The House is situated in the small village of McGregor, just a twenty-minute drive from Robertson and a two-hour drive from Cape Town. The quaint and picturesque village is well-known for its unique Cape architecture of thatched roofs and whitewashed walls.
Guests will be enchanted by the views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. Surprisingly for its small size, the village has plenty to offer, such as – a local museum, restaurants, coffee shops, hiking trails, a Nature Reserve and an art route.
Wine and wonder at the Lady Grey Walk Cottage
Lady Grey Walk Cottage is closely situated to some excellent wine farms in the region, such as the McGregor Winery.
The house is equipped for self-catering and offers two bedrooms and a loft room. One of the downstairs bedrooms and the loft room has a double bed, while the third room has two single beds.
There is a sunny, open-plan living room and a fully-equipped kitchen. The house has three bathrooms in total, two of them being en-suite bathrooms.
For guests, there is a wonderful and spacious patio with a fireplace, where you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountains and garden. There is also a private courtyard, which is the perfect spot to sit and have a peaceful breakfast.
Explore the surroundings of McGregor
The house is pet-friendly and can accommodate a total of eight people, with an automated garage to park your cars.
The accommodation is neat and tidy. The modern furnishings, such as a big chandelier, book shelf with books, comfy sofa and clean white bedding, give it a cosy cottage feel.
For those, who love walking and hiking in nature, the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve offers rugged beauty. In the spring, it lives up to its name – happiness, as bright orange Botterblom daisies cover the rocky Karoo landscape, offering a delightful treat for visitors
I would highly recommend that guests explore the village, by hiring a bicycle or walking around town to view the unique architecture of the region, which includes cob and straw bale buildings.
