The ROCK, Kyalami, Johannesburg
The new Kyalami Corner shopping centre, which opened in April 2017, correctly responds to the retail, lifestyle and social requirements and aspirations of the Kyalami neighbourhood and surrounds. With great shopping and impressive restaurants, The ROCK is in a lively, vibey centre with so much to offer.
Kyalami has grown in leaps and bounds, once known only for the iconic racetrack and equestrian holdings in less than three years it has become the area to ‘live, work and play’ in Gauteng. As a result of the rapid development taking place in this area, the residential property market continues to thrive.
For a Friday family night dinner, my hubby, 6-year-old son and I ventured out to Kyalami to try the Rock, Diner. Recently I had experienced their sister restaurant in Fourways and wanted to see how her sibling compared.
What a lovely dinner we had. The ROCK, Kyalami, is just as beautifully contemporary as the other, and I was once again immediately welcomed on entering. Autumn saw a chill in the air, and they had all the glass flame patio heaters out in force which created a warm ambience.
What’s on the menu at The ROCK, Kyalami?
The menu is pretty much the same as the Fourways branch, with a symphony of choice on offer. Steaks, burgers, ribs, sushi, seafood, pasta and salads. You really are spoiled for choice here. I think that’s one of the reasons I love it so much.
My son chose the crumbed chicken wings washed down with a lime milkshake (he said it was the best milkshake he’d ever had – he certainly wolfed it). Dad and I couldn’t help but sample a wing (or two), and they were simply delicious. I went with my usual carnivore choice – a 250g sirloin and onion rings. The steak melted in my mouth, and the onion rings were perfectly prepared. Hubby chose the Salmon Teriyaki, seared Norwegian salmon fillet, topped with a homemade teriyaki sauce and chopped fennel bulbs and dried chilli flakes.
I have never seen my husband in food heaven before, he enjoyed it so much, that he even dreamt about it that night (no word of a lie).
The entire team at The Rock, Kyalami make sure you are well looked after, and they know customer service, exceptionally well. It really is a super experience, and I urge you to try it soon.
